Spring Was In The Air

Last week was the end of the peach blossom season in Longquanyi. I took a walk to uncles old house on top of the mountain. I went back up the mountain on Saturday all the flowers and tourists have gone.

Peace and tranquillity resumes.

Dying Chengdu Long Wang Miao

I have been working on a project since November 2018 documenting the death of old Chengdu. Communities like this can never be rebuilt as they will all be relocated outside of the local area and put into high rises. This is happening all over the city of Chengdu. Think about your own community all those memories tore down and washed away. This week I was invited by the local gov to photograph Longwangmiao. Most of it will be demolished, but some buildings are protected by the government. I spent many a goodnight eating in this area and Im very sad to witness the gentrification of Chengdu. It is just off Tangba Street which has become very popular with tourists. So its time to milk the cash cow.
